Meet the Counselor

 

Ms. Arysa Sutherland

Hello StingRAEs!! 

My name is Ms. Arysa Sutherland and I am beyond excited to work with the StingRAE family! This is my sixth year as a School Counselor and my very first at Alexander Elementary. I was born and raised in Boston, MA, where I went to school and received my ME.d  in School Counseling from the University of Massachusetts Boston. Prior to Counseling, I taught 6th grade English and earned my ME.d in Education.

This year, it is my goal to support all of RAE’s students socially, emotionally, and academically. I will be providing this support through guidance lessons in the classrooms where we learn how to build healthy friendships, manage our emotions, and set attainable goals.  

I am someone who fully believes in the Power of Movement! This is not only important for me to incorporate with my students each day, but also in my own daily life. I LOVE dancing, running and going on trail hikes with my dog Sarge Jr. In my spare time, I also enjoy baking, cooking and spending time with loved ones!
